U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary

Division 1, 5th Coast Guard District, Upper Chesapeake, Maryland

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary (USCGAUX) is the civilian arm of the United States Coast Guard (USCG).  Division 1's Area of Responsibility (AOR) encompasses the Upper Chesapeake including adjoining harbors, ports and tributaries located in Maryland from just north of Baltimore Harbor to just south of the West River (south of Annapolis and Thomas Point Light).  Division 1 directly supports Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and USCG Missions as well as serving the boating public by providing such services as boating safety education, vessel safety inspections, and conducting on-the-water patrols.

Division 1 meets second Thursday of the month at Coast Guard Yard Curtis Bay off Hawkins Point Road in Baltimore at 7:30 PM

Coast Guard Auxiliary

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established by Congress in June, 1939 to assist the Coast Guard with promoting boating safety.  It is composed of nearly 35,000 members from all walks of life who are drawn together by their love of the water and a willingness to help others.  Its members receive training so that they function as a part of Team Coast Guard.
