Auxiliary Uniforms |
The Auxiliary uniform is similar to the Coast Guard uniform. It should be worn with pride anytime you are representing the Auxiliary or Coast Guard. Each member is responsible for purchasing uniforms appropriate to their activities. Members are encouraged to purchase as a minimum the Tropical Blue Uniform. This basic uniform, both summer and winter versions, can be worn for most Auxiliary activities. Typically the cost of a suitable Tropical Blue Uniform including required devices is around $150 (see New Member Manual). Used Uniform items may be available from your Flotilla or independent Suppliers. Additional information on uniforms can be found in Chapter 10 (Uniforms) of the USCG Auxiliary Manual. |

Operational Dress Uniform (ODU) The ODU is intended for wear in any situation that does not require a dress uniform. Metal devices or attachments are no longer authorized to be worn on this uniform in operational situations. Read complete ALCOAST 427/07. Auxiliarists are strongly encouraged to review the ODU sizing guide before placing an order with The Uniform Distribution Center (UDC) in Woodbine NJ, since the ODU outfit is quite different from other uniforms. Coast Guard Auxiliary Members are authorized to wear working blue uniforms until they are no longer serviceable. Auxiliary Uniform Procurement Guide (UPG) Latest edition of Uniform Procurement Guide is the July 2006 version. Hard copies are available from the Material Supply Center (ANSC 7053). |
