Weekly Updates - From Spring 2006 Program

Definitive answers on a couple of BCQ related questions:

The State of MD boating course (approved by NASBLA) is accepted for BCQ “pre-requisite”.

Mentors are allowed to sign-off on the first aid tasks.  It is not necessary this for Spring BCQ to have RN, MD, or EMT sign-off those tasks.

Night ops will NOT be offered at the May 20th OTW Mentoring Day at Curtis Bay .  Please make arrangements for your member to have adequate opportunity to complete these tasks within your flotillas.  Please contact me if you do not have sufficient resources and we will attempt to make assignments outside of your flotilla.

Members who are not going through Providence Center must register with Nancy Gardner for the swim test (May 16th), OTW (May 20th), and QE day (June 10th).  This includes REYR people for June 10th.   We need to get a good “head count” so the proper number of resources are available.

Lunch will be available to us at the “Galley” at Curtis Bay …this relates to the most popular question so far.

Tuesday 16 May Swim Exercise

Crew

8pm at the Anne Arundel Swim Center off of Riva Road in Annapolis.  We will need a head count of attendees.  The pool administrators advise there will be no fee as in previous years!  Please show up at 1955 … not earlier since there is another group using the pool prior to our scheduled event.  Bring a Type III PFD.
